As a result, older operating systems and browsers (and other user agents that use networking facilities provided by the OS, such as MacPorts when it downloads files) can no longer verify the trust of sites encrypted using Let's Encrypt. On September 30, 2021, DST Root CA X3 expired. In the meantime, a version of the ISRG Root X1 certificate that has not been cross-signed by DST Root CA X3 has been included in modern browsers and operating systems. When the service got started in 2015, no web browser or operating system knew about it and would not have trusted these certificates, so they cross-signed the ISRG Root X1 certificate using DST Root CA X3, a trusted certificate authority already preinstalled in operating systems and browsers at that time. Certificates they issue are signed by the ISRG Root X1 certificate authority.

Let's Encrypt is a popular free service that MacPorts and others use to obtain certificates to encrypt their web sites.

I'm sure it's me missing something completely obvious but I have been drawing a blank for days now trying to get this working. Can BS player not make the connection itself? The only way I can make any connection to the mac is using ES File Explorer's SFTP mode and then play from there, but it is slow and nowhere near as responsive as BS player playing direct.

I have enabled File Sharing on the mac and also enabled smb sharing, with full read/write access to all connections.

The Server IP/Name and Display Name are both populated with the correct .x number already, and I have tried entering my mac login and mac password but it just keep coming back with Unknown user name or Bad Password

It also locates the iMac IP when I scan for it in LAN mode, but when I click on it and it asks for login credentials, it is refusing them over and over. My problem is that, despite researching and trying every User/Pass combination I can think of, I cannot get BS Player to connect to the iMac to see the shared folders I have made with all my media inside.īS Player can see all of the Windows shares I made to test it, no problem. I have also installed Win 10 and put all my fave apps back on, but primarily it will be in mac mode running Yosemite 10.10.4 Recently though I saw a bargain iMac and bought it.

I have for years used a PC at home (I use mac all day at work and was always reluctant to get one at home as well) and have always been well happy connecting to my shared folders using BS Player and streaming to my Nexus 10. Hi all, and greetings from a new member :big grin:
